Dear Team Kingsway,
Well what a difference a week can make! When we came back to school on Monday 4th January we couldn’t imagine how dramatically everything would change.
I would just like to say a huge thank you to staff who worked late into the evening on Monday following the 8pm government announcement, especially to ensure the key worker form was up and running that evening and available for parents to complete via class dojo, and to start making preparations for home learning. Also for gathering materials and making up packs for collection on Tuesday and having home learning activities on Class Dojo Tuesday morning.
Thank you to parents for their patience, understanding and kindness towards school and school staff during this period of transition. We really do appreciate it. As you will be aware as a school we only found out this information at the same time as everyone else. We understand that everyone has their own concerns and worries about the current Covid situation. As parents, carers and critical workers ourselves we face many of the same situations as the rest of Team Kingsway.
We strongly believe that showing kindness to others during this period is one of the key factors in helping to make the situation bearable. It is also one of the greatest examples you can set as a parent to your child to support them in growing up to become valued citizens of our local community. Be kind to yourself too. We have all found ourselves in different and unfamiliar roles during the pandemic. We can only do our best.
Thank you to all of our amazing children. As always you have adapted quickly to the changing situation, showing great resilience and positivity. It is great to see how you have engaged with the learning in different situations this week. We are all very proud of you.
Please have a restful weekend. Take care of those around you and look after yourselves.
Be kind and stay safe
Mrs Bradbury and all the staff and governors at Kingsway
