Please see the attached letter from Colin Pettigrew Corporate Director Children, Young People and Schools regarding on site places during the current lockdown.
There are a lot of children currently attending on site at Kingsway and this is much higher than in the previous lockdown. In addition to planning and providing the on site learning teachers are also maintaining remote learning, assessing the work submitted, planning and providing live social interaction activities and making phone calls to parents and children.
The Covid 19 transmission rates in the Ashfield area and in particular the area of Kirkby our school is in have been particularly high. We are keen to have all of our children back into school but, due to government decisions, this is not possible at the moment and we also need to make sure that we have reduced numbers in school. We do not wish to do what other schools have had to do and ask all critical worker parents reapply for places but if requests continue we have may to do this. Please support and help us get all of Team Kingsway back to school by only using the critical worker provision on the days which you are required to carry out your critical worker role. The main message for all children is that they should remain at home if they can.
