Kingsway Curriculum - the how and why
We began designing our current Kingsway Curriculum in February 2019 following the introduction of the new framework. Our focus was on what Kingsway children need to become the best version of themselves they can possibly be with the knowledge, skills and personal qualities which will support them through the rest of their lives. This will always be our priority.
Following the return to school in March 2021, after the second period of lockdown, we looked at our curriculum again from a recovery approach taking into account further considerations including the impact of lockdown on the children's mental health. This included additions with a focus on relationships and attachment and P4C (Philosophy for Children) to support in rebuilding relationships in our school community.
